The following formula should be used to calculate application rates.

 

Application Rate (inches per hour) =

                                213 x Emitter Flow Rate (gph)                           
Spacing Between Dripperline (inches) x Spacing Between Emitters (inches)

 
Example:
  Emitter Flow Rate = 1 gph
  Spacing Between Drip Emitters = 18"
  Spacing Between Dripperlines = 16"
Question:
   What is the application rate?
Solution:
Application Rate =

 231 x 1
16 x 18

 = .80"/hr
